This is the definitive story of architect Ehrick Rossiter (1854-1941) and the transformation of American homes and communities at the turn of the 20th century. Working primarily in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, Rossiter was in the vanguard of the new architectural profession. His 1882 recommendations for tasteful colors for home decoration influenced a generation of homeowners.
These homes and civic landmarks defined the building of America in its most expansive era and continue to shape contemporary life in America with the structures of its gracious past.
